    nothing changed my end why it would disconnect from the historic server i dont know
    do u know why its always the historic server that has a problem?
    is the historic server colocated with the rt server?
    i had a load of bother b4 with it while the rt was ok
    anyway its ok at the moment
    i use a portchecker from portforward.com to check that 31654 is open, its free
    the server ip's dont return echo which doesnt help

      Please note that real-time data is received from Zen-Fire. However, Zen-Fire itself does not provide any historical data. As a courtesy we allow Zen-Fire users to load historical data from our historical data server. So real-time data and historical data is received from 2 different sources.

      Unfortunately I am not sure why you experience disconnections with the historical data server. Please let me know if the issue recurs and send me your latest log and trace files. You can find log and trace files at the following locations.

      Start Menu--> My Documents--> NinjaTrader 7--> Log--> log.20101014 for today. (log.yyyymmdd for any other date)

      Start Menu--> My Documents--> NinjaTrader 7--> Trace--> trace.20101014 for today. (trace.yyyymmdd for any other date)

      Please send them to support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com. Put 'Attn Jason' in the subject header and reference this forum thread.

        when u say ZF provides no historical do u mean literally zero hours or days back ?
        and if my pc is saving data (is it?) rt why when i open a chart does NT immediately want to refer to the historic server NT has?
        in other words not having 24/7 access to historic data shouldnt be so much of an issue

          Yes, Zen-Fire itself does not have historical data themselves - it only provides real-time data.

          Please see the link below under 'When does NinjaTrader load historical data?' for information how NinjaTrader loads historical data.


          You will save real-time data if 'Save chart data as historical' is enabled at Control Center-->Tools-->Options-->Data-tab.
