If you add up the number of users of NinjaTrader and multiply it by the number of minutes it takes to investigate this stat, to try to find it in the help, and then to post a question about it on this forum, I wonder how much time that is which will get wasted if nothing is done about this?

    Thanks for the reply anyway.

Thanks for your suggestion, adamus. This is not likely to be changed. This value has no significance, and can be ignored.

    Thanks, adamus.

I see what you're saying and will pass on to our development team.

It seems to use the values for the first instrument in the list, where N/A might be more appropriate here.

I'm looking in the lower panel, in the Settings tab, in the Parameters section, 3 row down.

Please refer to the first message again for the original question.

    Thanks

Right. I see the combined results on the instruments tab. I'm not sure what number you're looking at and the issue you're seeing from this. Can you post a screenshot of yours?

The "COMBINED RESULTS" line is in the Instruments tab, not the Optimizer tab. It is the combined results of all the instruments in the lines above.

    Hello Adamus,

Can you clarify where you're looking at this value? I ran sampleMACrossover against and optimized MA lengths. After the test was done I clicked optimizer tab. No combined results were listed here.

What I'm seeing is the best results for each individual instrument on the optimizer tab.

When you look at the combined results from the instrument tab, this represents the combined best performance for each instrument - with their own individual settings used to optimize.

  • Combined Results in Strategy Analyzer optimization run shows param value?

After running an optimization in the Strategy Analyzer, when looking at the settings for the Combined Results, I see my optimization parameter "MA Length" has a value.

    What value is this?

Is it the average value of the optimized parameter values for the whole basket of instruments?

Or is it the optimal value when using one value for the whole basket?

I expect that the two values would be quite different.

I can't find any description of this in the Help.
