    Settlement versus Closing Price

Kinetick returns you the settlement prices, whereas the other two feeds return the closing prices. I consider this an advantage, because I use the daily data to calculate floor pivots, and for those you need the settlement prices.

The settlement price is the volume weighted average price of the settlement period. For index futures the settlement period is the last 30 seconds prior to close, so the settlement prices for ES, YM and NQ are only a few ticks off the close price. However, for interest rate and currency futures, settlement is about two hours prior to close.

In particular for 6E the settlement period is 1:59:30 PM to 2:00:00 PM Central Time, whereas the close is at 4:00:00 PM Central Time.

So nothing wrong about this! For more details see CMEGROUP website:

It seems pretty much every day's close price is wrong by at least 15 ticks, and it doesn't adjust when I change the session definition.

    What am I doing wrong?

Using 7.0.0.18, when I attempt to connect to Kinetick using my IQ ID/PIN, I get the message "Login failed: Unable to login. Incorrect login/password?"
I have double checked the id/pw, and they are correct.

This is expected since you can't use an IQFeed login for Kinetick.

I guess I must have misunderstood this from the first message in this thread:

"Existing users of IQFeed or DTN can already use Kinetick temporarily by creating a Kinetick Connection using your IQFeed/DTN logon credentials."

                GREAT !

Is there a trial version for real time ? in order to get a taste of it even if it is just a few days.

                Thanks

                  Unfortunately there is not.

                    Hi,

NT supports having multiple datafeeds turned on at the same time, but I don't see how to distinguish which datafeed is used for a particular chart if the datafeeds use the same symbols.

For example, could I use one datafeed for daily charts, and another data feed for intraday charts at the same time on the same symbol name?

                    Thanks.

I have a question. I have an account with a broker that DTN IQ feed supports as an IB for the CME waiver program, Infinity Brokerages, but I don't see it in your list of brokerages. How do I go ahead and get the cme waiver through you guys as well.

Unfortunately it is not possible to split instruments to differet feeds. Basically, NT tries to get data from the first connection if the instrument type (stock, futures, forex) is supported by that connection. If it is not, it will roll to the second connection.

There is no way to know what feed the instrument data is coming from apart from understanding the logic above.

This broker is supported. If you sign up, its automatically taken care of you based on the logic outlined at the link below.

why wouldnt there be a trial available? What if we pay for a month and realize that the data feed is no good or too slow or whatever? We would be able to tell after the first day using it...if its no good then we paid for a full month for nothing. Maybe make the exchange fees nonrefundable but the $50 should be refundable if we dont like the feed.

Kinetick competitors charge on average quite a lot more for similar services. In the interest of providing a low cost, high quality data option, we sacrificed providing a free trial.

                                ok.

Is it possible to use Kinetick on 6.5?
