    Heiken Ashi and Beta 16

I just read through the change notes for Beta 16 and was dismayed to learn that you are removing Heiken Ashi as a chart style. HA has been working fine since you fixed it in Beta 15. The problem of the first few bars aggregating up to the time of the chart open or reset disappeared.
To remove this useful style is totally unnecessary, since it is working great.

      blaporte,

Issues underlying the HA bars type were not only the first few bars. There were underlying unresolvable issues which caused HA bars to be incorrect in the values displayed for open, high, low, close. There will be an improved HA indicator which will work almost identical to the bars which should cover most needs that a bars type covered.

        Josh,
i understand there have been a few issues with the HA implementation.
I have put a great deal of time in debugging some of these.
Can you provide any additional information on what we will be losing by using an indicator instead of bar type?

          gyoung,

You will not be able to view a 1min series and a 1min HA series on the same chart at the same time anymore.

You will not be able to solely backtest on HA bars, but you can still do what you want if you code it to take advantage of the exposed OHLC values for the HA indicator.

Is there any way to get this new indicator to change to OHLC instead of candlesticks?

gyoung, unfortunately this will default the style to 'CandleStick'.

I understand you guys are trying to fix problems in this area but it is a little (lot) frustrating especially since I have put a substantial amount of effort in the area and it is not as useable as it should be.

                Just a little disappointed....

Gary, sorry to hear your frustration - perhaps you could explain a little more what you're looking to do with the HA, so we can perhaps think of a workaround in this new situation?

You could still access the HA OHLC values for calculating on them, would work just like indicator on indicator then...

                    Bertrand,
All I was doing with the HA bar type was plotting falling and rising averages different colors on the 1 minute as well as volume charts for various indicators.

Will try to start with an EMA version when I have time.

I just put a lot of effort debugging the HA implementation and now I need to start from scratch.

I know this is BETA code but it is still Frustrating.....
