IB and Forex

Too make sure we are on the same page...See attached image.

This is EURUSD through IDEALPRO.

- As you can see the bid and ask prices are displayed
- I am long 0.1M (100,000)
- I have 15 pips in profit (bid at 35 and avg entry at 20)
- PnL is +$150 wich is $10 per pip at 15 pips

Would you be seeing something different than this?

This is what I see. Actually after resetting my instruments ask and bid is now displayed and P&L seems to be correct as well on both ForexPro Dome and ChartTrader. I think everything is ok now, but I will come back to you in case it is not.

IB Forex works with the right settings!

Tested again. Everything fine.

The instrument settings is really the key. I first had set the Tick Size to 0,00005 (that is what it is), but it should be set to 0,00001. Otherwise it would not work. Also for IB I needed to select this subpip support.

One last wish: The subpip colour / arrow up colour on the FOREXPRO Dome is absolutely invisible. Make it something like lime - or if you want an unvisible default - include it in the property panel to allow for changing it!

You could change the color for the simulation account (back color of window) to get more contrast.

Helps a little bit, but I would prefer a brighter color for the arrow / subpip and a darker backcolor (you did not convince me!)

Actually I have customized all NT to have dark background and rather bright colours for bars and indicators. I do not like to stare onto a white screen, as it is more relaxing for my eyes if the screen is darker....

I´m using Beta 6.5.0.9 with IB as DataFeed. Works generelly but I´m not able to get correct pips, f.e. 1.46355 for EURUSD or 158.215 for EURJPY. When I use 0.0001, 0.0005 or 0.00001 as tick value the displayed format (in chart and control center) remains the same.

What can I try else?

- which values are you expecting?
- do you have checked (or unchecked) Tools->Options->Misc->sub pip support

Hi Dierk,

thanks for the fast answer. In TWS I see f.e. EURUSD-Quotes with 5 digits behind the point: 1.46465. When I´m using Tick-Value 0.00001 in NT then I would expect the same quote in NT. But I´m just getting 1.4646.
The same happens with EURJPY: TWS: 158.435 - Tick: 0.001 - NT:158.43

The "sub pip support" preference I can´t find. The menu control center menu Tools->Options->Misc looks like in the attached pic.

FXpro leads a life on its own

In NT 6.5.9 orders that are entered into FXpro are not shown on the chart trader and not transmitted to Interactive Brokers. However, all orders and positions are included in the Executions/Positions/Account performance tabs.

If orders are directly entered into the chart trader they are properly transmitted to TWS via API.

Maybe FXpro cannot be used with IB?

I just re-tested. It all works as expected. Please make sure you have selected the right account on FxPro and chart.

Limit Price for FOREX pro with IB

If I choose Order Type "Limit" under FXpro, no limit price can be entered. For example, I just tried to enter a buy limit order for 0,3M USDCAD at 0,9942. This figure cannot be entered. Starting with 0 the only way to enter a limit price would be clicking the up-arrow 99420 times to get the price! Or is there any other option to enter a limit price?
