IB and Forex

Hi,

I am using the version 6.5.06 with IB and forex.
I receive the current real time data but not the historical data. In other programs I am not having any issue.

I have seen that the beta 6.5.0.7 has been released but I don’t see if the change log if this issue has been solved. Could you confirm please?

Beta 6.5.8 IB and FOREX not yet working?

Just tried EURUSD with BETA 6.5.8.

Maybe I had wrong settings, because the program crashed?

(But I saw that IB/NYBOT is now perfectly working, so it is going ahead with NT).

a) please send logs and traces: Help->Mail to support "For Dierk" and refer to this post
b) please try Tools->Options->Misc->Reset instruments. Does it still crash?

Still have to test FOREX again, actually I am afraid to touch it, because last time I had to reinstall NT completely. If I make a backup of Own Documents/ NinjaTrader 6.5, that should save all my work and my settings, does it? So I could reinstall NT after a crash and copy the backup file it back to the directory?

You NEVER should manually copy <mu documents> ninjatrader folder but use the File->Utilities->backup feature.

NT 6.5.8 crashed again on IB FOREX

These are my settings:

Master instrument: EURUSD
> Instrument Type: Currency
> Tick Size: 0,00005
> Currency: UsDollar
> Point Value: 1
> Sim feed start price 1,00
> Exchanges: IBIdealPro selected
> Symbol map
> Interactive Brokers EUR.USD

Dome would not display market depth, dome settings for market depth automatically switched to false, NT crashed when connecting. Cannot send screenshot, as it exceeds 97 kB.

- you can not trace currencies via IB on the DOM

Found the reason for the crash:

With IBIdealPro settings $EURUSD appears as an instrument on the Dynamic DOME. Select it and you get your crash. My suggestion: Configure IdealPro the same way as default setting for FOREX to avoid that it can appear on the Dynamic Dome.

Selecting $EURUSD on the dome or the chart works. I also got 1-minute-backfill for 30 days without any problems.

I had to select "Currencies(FX) sub pip support" under Tools -> Options -> Misc.

Not working yet:

- Bid and Ask not displayed on ForexPro
- Profit & Loss not correctly calculated (charttrader and ForexPro displaying profit values too low)

Another question:With IB symbol for IdealPro and Ideal is the same. How do you make sure that I am not filled via Ideal (7 pips spread) instead if IdealPro (1 pips spread)?

- please do Tools->Options->Misc->Reset instruments
