    ZigZag Diviation Options - NT8

The current options for Diviation type in Zigzag indicator are "Percent" and "Points."

A relatively more useful option used in many indicators for swing analysis is "Power" or "Strength", or in other words, the number of bars before and after a swing high or a swing low. For example, a zigzag high point with a "strength" of 3 would have 3 lower highs to the right and 3 lower highs to the left. Similarly for a zigzag low.

It would be a great improvement to the zigzag indicator for its usefulness if this additional option is added.

    Thanks.

It already exists in NT. It is the Swing indicator.

Thanks koganam; I am aware of the Swing indicator. The logic for the NT Swing indicator is not correct as it does not plot correct swing points.

As definition of "SWING" applies, a swing low can only occur after a swing high and a swing high can only occur after a swing low. However, as you see in the attached screenshot that is not the case with the NT Swing indicator. When this indicator is applied consecutive swing highs and lows are created.

Perhaps a better option would be the logic for ZigZigUTC, although I have not seen the same issue and can not confirm that it would behave similar to the Swing indicator or not.

Maybe you guys can come up with a true Swing indicator.

      Cheers!
