Alerts -A better way to set price alerts needed

Yes, alerts have controls available for the sound file, text color, background text color, and priority. Depending on where you are setting these alerts, it may be available from a gui or through custom programming.

I agree with fastcar
A path back to the sound folder where the wav file is stored should be visible permanent part of ANY indicator so the end user can change the sound if needed. If that was done we can make up a verbal wav file to alert us, right now we get a chime or a gunshot and we don’t know where it is coming from.

Thanks for the suggestion. This option is available for advanced programmers to add to their indicators. Unfortunatley there is no NinjaTrader support for this, but you may find ideas to help you in this thread:

Thanks Ryan but It should not be an option it should be mandatory! I’m not an advanced programmer; I just want to trade the Futures Market without my computer shooting bullets at me.

I understand for sure, but we avoid making global changes like this if there is a custom programming solution available. We don't want to break existing scripts that have their own sound file management, the file dialog option is available for those that want to add it to their own scripts, and the current style allows us a framework with less .net overhead.

That said, I have forwarded your request to our development team for consideration in a future release. This suggestion is being tracked with ID # 1262.
