Open the alert window on alerts!
If an alert goes off and the alert window isn't open, it should open, and be brought forward. If the user closes the window and another alert is triggered, it should open again.
I like alerts that actually alert me, not lurk in the background until I happen to check the window, and do absolutely nothing except take up screen space and clutter my taskbar the other 95% of the time.
