NT user interaction is really2 bad !!

    Hey,
I really love to see your platform to grow, it will be the most powerful platform for trading, but before that happen you should hire someone with knowledge on designing user interface/interaction.

It amazes me that NT is 6.5 version already, while the first time I tried it I can already feel your platform is still "UNDER DEVELOPED".

I'm sorry to say harsh thing but you need to reconsider hiring someone.

    example:
Instrument Manager, if i want to search for all "gas" futures, you can only find Nymex, you really need to use "Gas" with capital G, that is ridiculous. And if you press enter while the cursor is in description or Name, you don't get Search, instead NT think you are pressing OK button.

If you want a good example of which one is good then try OpenEcry, it has the best user interface & functionality, unfortunately OEC dont support programming as powerful as yours in C#.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see your platform to get better, but everytime I experience this kind of thing, it makes me angry.

    Anger Management

I really love to see your platform to grow, it will be the most powerful platform for trading . . .
Well, I guess we'll have to pardon the NinjaTrader team for focusing their efforts on functionality that really matters. Sure, there is always room for improvement to deliver a better interface, but I can't remember the last time a better interface made me money over solid trading functionality and broad extensibility to accommodate most any trading idea.

Obviously, MetaTrader and OpenECry are falling short of your expectations too or otherwise we wouldn't be blessed with your brand of constructive feedback on this forum. The folks at Ninja are too nice to tell you to get some perspective (and some manners) but I don't have that constraint.

I have some sage advice for you . . . if you're angry, count to ten and then think twice before you start whining on a public forum.

    Have a nice day!

I would really love to see them making a better NT, for them & our benefits also.

One more thing about NT, it's so unfortunate to have someone buy NT and having them to pay for some course to be able to use strategy wizard, that tutorial should be free to all NT users, let's say an archive of the tutorial that can be downloaded.

I was wondering maybe there is a purpose to make NT as difficult as it can be in order to profit from the course. But I should mind my own business.

I also have a suggestion for NT, you can build your own brokerage, instead selling those course & learning material. Take a look at Thinkorswim, they are the best platform for options, free seminars, free tutorials, yet they make money & growing very rapidly. FYI they make a software that cost THOUSANDS of Dollars worth on other platform that have the same functionality (analyze, spreadhacker, etc), TOS is the best in options industry I believe. And I am a very happy customer with TOS.

BTW, how much do we have to pay to get a certification on ninja?

While I share your desire for an improved NinjaTrader, I'd suggest sticking around and you may come to realize your assessment of the NinjaTrader developers is premature. I really believe they are the best in the industry.

Also if they were totally profit oriented they wouldn't be offering the program for free, and also offering product training and tech support for free users. If profit was the main concern, they would charge $3000+ for the program.

With that said, I think many of your criticisms are valid.

-Having Enter close the Instrument Manager has ticked me off on numerous occasions. The interface has its share of quirks and limitations, but the program is relatively new so they deserve some slack in my opinion. Programs like Metastock, Tradestation, and Advanced Get also have their share of cosmetic flaws/interface quirks and have been around for much longer.

-Having nearly identical webinars every week instead of archiving them and covering new material periodically is a bit of a let down.

-While I'd love for the 8 hour seminar to be free, I think thats unrealistic. The price is reasonable and in my opinion, the seminar will likely pay for itself, many times over. If you want basic video instruction on the strategy builder, press F1.

The option to purchase an archive of the seminar afterwards would be nice though, for those unable to attend...

Tha main difference between NT and a pro software is that you can't say: "Whatever happens it stays connected", because you have to manually close and start NT when it disconnects.

Stop loss and target profit are meaningless if you are not online.....

As already requested it is highly required a service that monitors NT process and tells if it is online/offline, hang, 100% cpu etc, and automatically makes an emergency disconnect (if u kill the process you have to phone the broker to reset your login manually, else it says you are already logged in....).

When you work with 50k futures it's not the difference between 50 and 500 dollars fee a month that is worth, but the fact that you could lose 20k in case of malfunction.......

If you are a pro u don't use NT, if you aren't a pro then you probably have another work and can't always be in front of your pc.....

I hope 7.0 comes before summer and not for december (remember support to 64bit vista guys).....

NT only will disconnect as you told it to do so. Other than that it will try to keep the connection open which might not work, since some broker technologies have restrictions (e.g. Patsystems) which force you to manually disconnect as Patsystems reset their servers once a day.
