Creating New Charts

Because Ninja Trader cannot retain or isolate drawings made upon indicators below the data panel, new charts must be created and retained for multiple instruments.

It would be very useful to copy and paste a new chart rather than be required to make a new chart in every instance which may subject the user to perform multiple actions just to make a new chart.

It would be appreciated if this where considered in future updates or versions.

Thank you for your forum post.


You can create a chart template and load this template on any new charts or any existing charts:

• Right mouse click on the chart background > Templates > Save As...
• Define a name for the template > Click OK
• From any existing chart > Right mouse click > Templates > Load... > Select the desired chart template

Otherwise you can load this template when creating a new chart from Control Center > File > New > Chart.. on the bottom right hand corner of the Data series menu "Load the following chart template:"

this reply fails to address the issue. please remove this response as it is lacking focus and absolutely DOES NOT address the issue.

drawings made to indicators on one instrument transfer to the next instrument. ie. if i draw a trend line on RSI for ticker AAPL and then call up a chart on GOOG, CL, ES, YM, etc. the trend line on RSI for AAPL appears on every other chart and soon, I will have markings of 10 names on every chart.

A separate chart for every instrument is required to prevent this.

A copy paste function would help deal with this because the root issue does not seem to ever be fixed.
