Attaching DrawObjects on Futures instruments

I just rolled over my charts to the /ES September contract and found all my drawings gone. After a little panic, I decided to investigate by reloading the June contract and saw all my drawings again. This led me to realize that drawings are attached to the exact contract name rather than the underlying instrument. Of course, this poses no problem for stocks, or anything that has an absolutely fixed name string.

May I suggest that for futures contracts, you also allow the possibility of attaching drawings to the contract, regardless of expiration. So we will have an extra setting available in the attachment dialog: "ES (All Charts)" - notice the missing contract month at the end of the symbol.

I really hate having to manually redo all my drawings on contract rollover: I am much too lazy for that to be fun.

I will forward your suggestion to have drawing objects attach per instrument regardless of the expiry month to development. Once I have the ID # after they inserted it in our tracking system, I will let you know.

Your suggestion was already present in our tracking system for future enhancements and has ID# 537.
