What you're lacking

Hello!

I've been testing and using NinjaTrader platform for several month. Overall I have very good impression about the app. I especially liked optimization (genetic one is great) and back testing. Opportunity to write custom strategies and indicators in C# can not be overestimated!
Also I currently actively use portfolio123.com trading platform. In short, it allows to built portfolio, simulation, screener, ranking based on technical and fundamental analysis of the stock universe. Although that platform is different and has its own weaknesses, it has a feature that I'd like you to have.
This feature is: ability to scan entire stocks universe with preset technical settings.
In simple words I'm missing a stock screenres and built strategies based on such screeners. You see, in your platform I have to select an instrument prior applying a strategy, but what if I want a strategy to select such instrument from the instrument universe based on pre-built screening?
Do you have any plans to add such features in NinjaTrader in the nearest future?

Hi there,

Universe screeners, rankings and portfolio backtests are the most significant downsides of the current NT platform. The features of portfolio123 are great for fundamental backtesting, but I would already be happy with technical (price) based portfolio backtesting and screening capabilities.

• You can do screeners with Market Analyzer, albeit you will have to write the code one off.
• You can do Portfolio Backtest using the Strategy Analyzer. I believe they call them "Basket Tests", which is just the standard backtest, but done by selecting a group (aka Portfolio) instead of a single instrument.

I am talking about "real" screeners, rankings and portfolio backtests including intra-portfolio correlations, rebalancing, equity curve, money management, etc. this cannot be achieved with the market analyzer and also only very difficult with the strategy analyzer.
