    NT 6.5.1016 log bug report

    There are a lot disconnect infos not be logged in NT 6.5.1016

    e.g.
    Trading server disconnect/lost connection at 11:49:50
    but the NT log showed Connection Lost at 11:50:20

    And 1 min later connection ok,but lost again after 2 mins,
    but the NT log just showed Trading server connected at 11:51:30
    NO Connectiion Lost information at all!!

    The same/familiar conditions/problems are quite a lost in a day....
    How to deal with this??

    Hello kuhasu,

    Can you please tell me to what connectivity provider you connect in NinjaTrader. How did you determine the loss of connection as per the trading server at 1:49:50 and 2 minutes later?

    Please note that NinjaTrader does not dictate when a connection is lost. It operates like a radio receiver in that it receives a signal from your broker and then displays/reports these signals back to you the trader. When a connection is lost, it is the broker's API that determines this and reports this to NinjaTrader which in turn reports this back to the trader.

    The common problems that contribute to this are:
    • ISP issues
    • Hardware firewall issues changing IP addresses frequently
    • Dynamic ISP address switching the address frequently intraday. Usually this happens once a week but you may want to check with your ISP. If they do change daily, a static IP address may work.
    • With Windows XP SP2, if you have more than 10 open TCPIP socket connections open (10 programs making connections through the internet) windows will randomly shut down some connections
    • Broker servers having problems
    • Check for software, such as (corporate) firewalls, spyware and anti-virus software, that could be interfering the connection

      the example is for MB trading Forex
      I can sure not the following problems:
      ISP issues

      But I can sure should be Broker servers having problems.

        Ok, I suggest to contact MBTrading and verify if the disconnection is as expected at the time you experienced it.

          So the information was not generated by NT??
          But it's displayed in the interface of log section in NT....

            Unfortunately I am not sure if I follow your response.

            What 'information' was not generated by NinjaTrader? I am not sure how to interpret your second sentence either.

            MBTrading resets their server one a day, which will cause a disconnection. Please check with MBTrading if they reset their servers at the time you experienced the disconnection.

              No,I meant I checked the NT log,not the log of MBTrading
              But why I need to ask for help to MBTrading?About the lost connections,the losts should be found by NT,isn't it?

                And if NT retrieves the log of MB trading Nav,just IF,
                How can I determine whether the connection is well esp. when ping time is normal....

                      There is not such an indicator, but you could middle mouse click on the most current bar to check it's date and time.

                        Datafeed MBTF, is it a bug of NT Chart?I restarted the Charts and back to normal now.I dont know why.......

                            The problem is I realy don't know how to replicate it.....
                            I have ran NT on my pc for more than three days.
                            There was an err occurring NT's crash(Just openned the windows like displayed in the picture),no strategies,I don't know why.The only reason I can think out is the problems of the disconnections---relogin.....but not sure.I did nothing during the NT was running.
