Import & Export Instrument Manager + Website Up/Down

    Hi,

Would you guys please add a complete Import & Export feature for the Instrument Manager?

This would greatly help Ninjatrader become more useful also outside the US. And users will start share different collections of stocks & futures.

The export feature should include all mapping details to brokers, data sources, currency, opening times etc. Every field that can be filled in the Instrument Editor should be exportable or importable.

To take this a step further Create a web page page where the Ninjatrader Symbols <-> Broker mappings can be added/changed by users. And than one could simply select a buckets of instruments, download them and import them into the Instrument Manager.

Or the other way around, export your index/bucket or what ever collection you've created and upload it into the public web database for others to use and enrich with their own broker mappings.

What I expect is that people outside the US will start to create and share their own stocks/futures/indexes from their country creating a very rich base of symbols<->Broker mappings from all over the world.

Hope you guys see the value of this as well and have some cycles left to add the Import/Export Feature. Once that is possible it might be even possible that some of the users will pick up the idea of creating the online mappings database.

    Hi Wessel,

    Thank you for your suggestions.

We will add this to our list of future considerations.

      I would second this too

Should not have to manually enter lists i.e BARC.L or BARC-LON - should be able to edit on the fly in .html format or something like that

How about a full list of NYSE stocks?

You can already import a list of stocks:

                Hi Ninjas,

I would absolute second the suggestion from Wessel too!

@Vincent - thanks for your advice. You are right, we still have an import/export opportunity for Instrument-Lists, but there is no place to share them. For example a Dow-List, adapted for InteractiveBroker, or a List for the german DAX.

                Regards

                      Same here.

May I add that I believe that for every Kinetick exchanges, symbols should be ready to pick by default from Instrument Manager. This would make a lot of sense, right ?

                        Hi,

I Would Like Suggest You That You Should Also Allow Add Scrips through Api, in Which We Can Submit Details in Function Like Symbol, Tick Size,Exchange etc

And In Import Batch Symbols You Can Add Feature Like Allowing Details like Symbol,Tick Size etc
                        For Example;

You Can Predefine Format For Symbol List
                        Like
                        Symbol,TickSize,Exchange,ScripList$Symbol,TickSize ,Exchange,ScripList

in Above Example We Have Diff Seperator For Each Symbol Seperated With ("$") sign And For Details Seperated With (",") Sign

And One More Feature is Required Of Vb.net Language And Edit And Continue on Fly While Debugging Support .

                        Regards,
                        Stockpro

Oh, yes please - If the instrument list could be exported/imported as a spreadsheet, it would make spotting and fixing errors (in commissions, exchange, currency etc SO much easier).
