Excellent awesome perfect a login for the desktop this could be very good with a few tweaks


CRITICAL FUNCTIONS
This is the critical missing piece that will allow us and our fully auto users to upgrade:
Login needs to be fully automatic no manual process no blocking modal dialog

A manual action is required to login each time you start restart nt8 - this is not tenable for our truly fully automated algo systems within NT8.
Also NT8 platform is even even automated to stop/start/.connect/download/ open workspaces and start algos and self resolve/fault tolerance for connections, errors etc - if need be -restart the platform also. unattended on a server etc..

What is needed is:
1) persist login credentials so they dont need to be re-entered each time
2) Checkbox "Keep me signed in" allows nt8 to start and login with no manual action- very easy to do simply write the encrypted token with a 30day sliding expiration to disk on when the user has successfully authenticated manually... so next time the file is read and log in is seamless, fully automatic no manual process no blocking modal dialog
3)Add a logout in NT8 and show who you are logged in as within the platform
4)consider to Add automation id to the controls to allow programmatic entry and control to enter the creds and login from external proc


checkbox "Keep Me Signed in" provides an automatic login and nt8 start can take place with no manual/human interaction

So this one is used for sign up, sign in, working offline and auto loing as the first part of login to the app
after that choosing the trading mode could be next screen etc also config persisted.. for auto login etc.

Yes, please. If they are auto-signed in and they want to use a different account all it takes is a sign out function under Help.

Just a quick thought on the implementation of the sign in... Why not offer a solution for both sides? That is...

When initially starting 8.1, you're prompted with the following:

• Username
• Password
• Dropdown with options:
  • Require Username and Password for next login
  • Require Password only for next login
  • Maintain automated login for this period. Two dropdowns appear
    • Selection of 1 through 6
    • Selection of Day, Week, or Month (from 1 day through 6 months)
  • Maintain automated login until next upgrade
  • Maintain login indefinitely, popup appears
    • Security warning and "you accept all risks" legal jargon. By entering your name/username below, you assume all risks and indemnify NinjaTrader.
    • Enter full name that matches the account (or the username again)

That way, NinjaTrader gets their login and security, and the users get to pick how frequently they want to login, knowing and accepting the risks.

I'm with MicroTrends request. Please add as requested by MicroTrend, it's common sense.
Also give the user the option of whether to use auto login or present login credentials.

My password for the NT website Acct is 12 characters: using uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols. Handled by LastPass and so it is auto login.
Now, I am forced to keep a text file open and cut and paste the password. So, yeah. Auto Login after a periodic (monthly?) verify.

Yes, please - now that the Username is retained - if the Username is populated already from before, please give the Password field the focus so we can just type in the password and not have to click the mouse to that field first.
