I went and followed the instructions listed on how to download the 1099, Ive got the file on my desktop, but it says the pdf file is password protected? Ive tried the password to login to ninjatrader account website, Ive tried the password that I use to login to windows, neither works.

Did anybody else encounter this? Where would I go to figure out what password was used on the file?

For NinjaTrader Brokerage, the password to view and download your tax information would be your Social Security Number (without dashes).

Besides agreeing with all the other posts have to add:

1. FINDING the 1099 is confusing. At the very least, email your clients HOW to locate it.
2. Password protecting it is not needed. NO other financial institution requires that I have dealt with in 30 plus years password protects the .pdf statements. Password protect login ids - sure but actual documents? - NOT needed.

The password for the PDF is likely separate from your NinjaTrader account or Windows password. Try checking your email for any messages from NinjaTrader regarding the 1099 form, as they might have sent the password there. If that doesn’t work, you may also want to explore Sred accounting for any relevant documentation or support related to retrieving the password. Alternatively, contact NinjaTrader support for assistance in retrieving the password.
