Control Panel: Columns Sized to fit Window add to drop down menu

Add sized to fit window for columns in the NT control panel, such as for strategies, they seem to shift randomly at times.

Thank you for writing in.

A feature similar to this already exists.

If you double-click the little dividing link that is between columns, it will auto fit to the information in that column.

• The divider to the right of the column name dictates the size of that column when double-clicked
• If the name of the column is the longest thing, it will stretch to the size of that
• If the information within that column is longer than the name, it will stretch to fit that

It will then maintain that size unless you change the size of another column or if you drag and resize the whole window to be thinner or wider.

I would never have bothered to post on this matter, but since the topic has been raised ... the sizing of columns in just about every NT8 window is "interesting". It seems almost impossible to manually size a column and only affect the adjacent column. It's almost as if every column is affected by resizing, even the auto-fit of a single column recommended by NinjaTrader_Clayton above. The frustration of trying to have columns stay at the size one has set them when resizing other columns is significant! Columns even automatically resize to be almost zero width at times. I would suggest that whatever "algorithm" is being used needs substantial refinement to make it more sensible.

Please add my vote to feature request is SFT-913. I would vote 100,000 times if it were possible.

In Post #3 user jeronymite politely uses the term "interesting" for the column sizing issue. Personally, I have used several much more colorful adjectives over the years. Report columns have a mind of their own and that mind is disfunctional. lol

The ability to choose stable (fixed) column widths AND the ability to choose left, right, center justification for column contents in all reports is needed. "Fit to contents" would be an ideal option.

At the moment, text justification seems to be available only in Market Analyser (Title rows). Programmers could use this existing code snippet for each report in the table formatting options.

A nice, quick and easy fix.
