    Features Request: Pop Up Handling

    Requesting to have options to handle pop ups for errors or notifications. I do auto trading and need this to be handled or click "ok" automatically. Also an optional send email feature would be nice.

    Hello ericson,

    We have tracked your interest to add functionality to silence order error popups when handled from an automated trading strategy. There are reasons for keeping the error messages in so the user is informed on what is happening, but we do also get feedback to silence these if they are handled in a NinjaScript strategy.

    We receive many requests and cannot reasonably implement all requested features or changes. Interest is tracked internally and if enough interest is tracked, it would be weighed against how feasible it would be to make those changes to consider implementing.     When new features are implemented, they will be listed in the Release Notes page of the Help Guide. The ID number will be different than the internal feature request tracking ID, but the description of the feature will let you know if that feature has been implemented.

    As for sending email messages, this is possible with SendMail. You will first want to set up your email Share Service in the Control Center under Tools > Options > General > Share Services, and test a message before testing SendMail.

      Thank you kindly. For the email option, I mean an option to send via email those critical error or notifications by email via settings options.

        Hello ericson,

        Rejected orders and order errors will be logged as "Alert level" log messages, which can be forwarded to your email address using the Control Center's Tools > Options > General > Email Log Alert Messages To feature.

          Ok thanks. How about disconnection errors or other pop up notifications?

            Hello ericson,

            Any log message that is "Alert Level" would be emailed using the mentioned feature. The color of an "Alert Level" log message would be firebrick red unless changed on your end.

            Connection Losses would be not be considered "Alert level" and an email would not be sent. You would need a script to perform that task. For example, the simple indicator attached contains logic to detect connection losses and send an email if one is detected. (Keep in mind, this would only help report outages routing your connection to your broker/data provider. If you experience a general internet connection loss, NinjaTrader will not be able to send an email.)
