I have received a tracking ID for your request.

Your request for the line number where a NinjaScript runtime error has occurred to be included in the Log is being tracked with ID# SFT-2703.

Please note it is up to the NinjaTrader Development to decide if and when a request will be implemented.
    Thanks ChelseaB,

In addition to the line number hopefully the name of the culprit indicator is also included, considering that most charts have several indicators plotted.

    Thanks.

Good suggestion, although I doubt very much its a 1/2 hour solution. How to you know the line number from the source in a piece of compiled code ? if its script running in an interpreter its easy, but Ninja is running compiled code.

I wish to submit a feature request, and if Dev Tem declines, let us know, why? ?

    Hi ChelseaB,

Regardless of what he is asking for, this would be a great help for the trace or log reports (or even a print on the chart) to identify which line of the code (and which variable) caused the error.

This would be a great and helpful feature request for all. Vote me in.

    Thanks.

A simple development, that helps us to save HOURS

    in other platforms, like MetaTrader,
when you attach an indi to chart, and there happens some error during execution (not to mention an error while COMPILING, but during execution of script on chart),
the LOG window SHOWS THE LINE NUMBER, where the problem happens.

however, Ninjatrader only shows method name, i.e.

...OnBarUpdate... index out of bounds or array or etc....

no hint on which line or which variable it happened, and huge headache...
I have programmed many thing in other programming languages (like php, js and etc..),
and have always achieved to create a log-function, that shows THE PROBLEM LINE and VARIABLE NAME TOO!

what is so hard in C#, for NT developers, to spend a half an hour to make a solution to show that too in NT.

at this moment we have to spend HOURS to find the problems within "OnBarUpdate", by utilizing bunch of Print and custom brainstorming.. so, solution will be great.
