RSI web and PC plataform are diferents

    Hi

Why RSI on web version and PC version are different if I use the same parameters? Someone else happens?

I don't understand it, I have always used the 14 period RSI. In the PC version this RSI is the same as in the rest of the versions, but in the web version it reaches other values and generates other divergences. What's happening?

    Thanks

    Hello jmrumbo,

    Thank you for the message.

When I tested, I was also getting different values between the two, but there were also different settings between the two. For example, the Desktop Platform has a "Smooth" setting while Web doesn't.

I have been able to find some additional information on the Desktop RSI, but I am still looking for more information on how the Web Relative Strength Index indicator works.I will be following up with more information on the Web RSI and what everything means there once I have been able to get that information.

Thank you for your question and your patience!

      Hi

Thanks for the reply. It's true, on desktop platform you can set a value for smooth, but that value doesn't change the RSI values, whether you put "1", "10", or "100", the RSI values don't change.

Furthermore, we know that the formula for RSI is 100 - (100 / (1 + (average gain / average loss)). If you calculate it manually, you will realize that the correct RSI is the desktop platform.

You can also verify it by comparing. If you use any other trading or technical analysis platform and set the RSI, you will see that it is the same as the Ninja desktop version. There is a problem with the RSI in the web version (and also with the Android app) and it surprises me since it is one of the most famous and used indicators.

I hope you can help me set this indicator correctly since my entire trading strategy is based on it.

      Thanks for your help.

        Hello jmrumbo,

        Thank you for the message.

We have submitted a ticket to our Development Team to take a deeper look into the RSI within both platforms and figure out what could be causing the values to show differently.

Until we are able to post with more information, I was made aware of a Community Indicator that may be used as a workaround for now:
Thank you for bringing this to our attention and for your patience.

          Thanks

Will you let me know when you have a response from the development team?

By the way, Tradovate platform has the same issue when calculating RSI.

Is there any way to trade with my account through Tradingview?

          Thank you very much.

            Hello jmrumbo,

            Thank you for the update.

We will be following up with more information once we have it.

The RSI in the NinjaTrader Web Platform is based on the RSI from the Tradovate Web Platform. So, we would expect them both to work the same way.
            • Again, we are investigating this further and will be responding with more info once we have it.

As connecting an account with Tradingview, this doesn't pertain to the overall subject of this forum thread so if you still have any further questions about it after this update, please either write into our support team directly, or create a new forum thread with your new questions.

No, it is not supported to connect TradingView to NinjaTrader.
We are tracking interest in an internal feature request for adding this feature to NinjaTrader and I have added your vote. This request is being tracked under the number SFT-2384.

As with all feature requests, interest is tracked before implementation is considered, so we cannot offer an ETA or promise of fulfillment. If implemented, it will be noted on the Release Notes page of the Help Guide.
Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.

                  Hello jmrumbo,

                  Thank you for the message.

At this time, there are a variety of factors as to why the RSI's could be different between platforms.

Our development team has created a request to look into unifying the way they work in a future update.

Until then, it would be expected for them to have different values.

Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.
