    Automatic Timeout / Logout?

Is there a new automatic timeout / logout when logged into the NT web application (Tradovate) or NT account dashboard web pages (account.ninjatrader.com)? Recently, after minimizing the browser (Edge) for a period of time (lunch break for example), I am coming back to my PC to find both the web app and account dashboard logged out and showing the login Welcome page. This seems to be something new because I've previously left the dashboard and web app overnight with no timeout / logout. I can find no settings to control any timeout / auto logout period. Any ideas why this is happening and how to stop it?

    Hello Lancer,

Thank you very much for your post.

I am not aware of any forced logout at this time. My suggestion would be to test this with an incognito or anonymous browser tab to see if the logout still occurs.

When testing this, I would also suggest logging out of all active windows first to ensure you do not have any other sessions open, as it could be that a duplicate session is recognized and disconnected.

Please don't hesitate to let me know, if this still occurs in an incognito/anonymous tab or if you have any further questions!

In the Edge browser, the equivalent privacy tab is called InPrivate. I don't know why that would matter, but I'll test it. There are no other active windows, duplicate sessions, or browser tabs, just the NT dashboard in one tab, and the NT web app in the second tab.

        Hello Lancer,

Thank you very much for your reply.

Do you also experience this issue when using a different browser e.g. Chrome?

Thank you in advance, I look forward to your reply!

I've used Firefox, Chrome, and Edge, and this is the first time seeing these forced logouts. First seen today with Edge, happening twice.

            Hello Lancer ,

Thank you very much for your reply.

Based on some information I found, Edge seems to 'sleep' tabs after some time to save performance. This might result in the timeout.

Please take a look at the publicly available link below that explains how to extend this time, I suspect this would also remove the inactivity timeout in Edge:

Please don't hesitate to let me know, should this not resolve the issue!

Manfred, good catch! That inactive tab sleep function in Edge must be the cause. I see in Edge settings > System and performance > Optimize Performance, there are settings to control tab sleep. I adjusted "Put inactive tabs to sleep after the specified amount of time", and added the two NT sites (https://account.ninjatrader.com and https://web.ninjatrader.com) to the "Never put these sites to sleep" list. Thanks!
