Coding custom indicators for NT Web Version

    Hello there,

In the web version of NT, it appears that "community indicators" were imported from Tradovate, which I understand utilizes Java coding instead of C#?

My question: if I would like to use my NT8 custom indicators, can I re-code them in Tradovate-script and then import them somehow?

    Thank you!

It's JavaScript, not Java - different language but yes, JavaScript. Yes, NT8 indicators can be recoded in JavaScript to run in the web/mobile environment assuming they don't use any capabilities that are not available there yet. If they're fairly simple (one time frame, oscillators or moving averages or the like) that can probably be done. Obviously, in time, the web/mobile environment will get more and more capable as they add features. NinjaTrader Desktop has had two decades now so it has a lot of features and it will take a while to get the web/mobile platform to that level.

I wonder how much JS is gonna be slower than C#. For complex code performance will be an issue I guess.

I don't think evaluation speed is the real question here - the motivation is to get an additional trading platform option that functions across apple devices, android, web browsers on Linux, iMacs and Windows PCs, etc. in a unified way.

            Hello catinabag,

            Thank you for using NinjaTrader.

We are really excited to be able to offer custom coding on our Web platform soon!

Unfortunately, we do not have this resources and documentation completed quite yet.

But yes, I can confirm these are javascript and are coming from the Tradovate webtrader.

In the meantime, below is a link to the tradovate documentation.
