From bank account in EUR to NinjaTrader account in USD

    From bank account in EUR to NinjaTrader account in USD

    Hi. I am trying to fund my NinjaTrader account through the web.

    The funds in my bank account are in EUR. I want to transfer part of those euros to my NinjaTrader account, but I want them to be in USD, since I am going to trade with the Nasdaq-100 (and, therefore, I assume that they need to be USD).

    On the NinjaTrader web, when I select the "Transfer" option to fund my account and select "Wire", the page allows me to choose the currency. But I don't know if it's asking me for the currency of my bank account (which is in EUR) or for the currency in which I want my money to be in my NinjaTrader account (which is USD).

    If I select the currency USD, it does not give me the option to make a SEPA transaction (unlike what happens if I select EUR), but only SWIFT, which my bank does not carry out.

      I went through this when I funded in EUR too. Your bank might have a conversion fee, and NinjaTrader's broker handles USD deposits on their end. I used a SEPA transfer to Wise, then converted to USD before sending it to NinjaTrader to save on fees. If you're dealing with High risk credit card Processing, banks can flag transactions, so calling them in advance might help avoid any issues.

        The currency selection on NinjaTrader likely refers to the currency you want in your account, which in your case should be USD. Since your bank account is in EUR, selecting USD may require a SWIFT transfer, but if your bank doesn’t support SWIFT, that could be an issue. If you select EUR instead, you might be able to use SEPA, but then NinjaTrader would need to handle the conversion to USD.           Thanks for your comment. I finally discovered on my own how it works. I wish NinjaTrader Brokerage support be only 1/10 as ready to help as NinjaTrader forum support. I am still waiting for their reply; other replies were too brief and unhelpful. It seems they only care about putting your money in their accounts. Pretty disappointing.
