    GFF Brokers and Ninjatrader

    Hi,

I am from Canada. One of the brokers that supports NT8 is GFF Brokers. They told me that you guys charge $99/month for the platform. However, I talked to a Ninjatrader customer support representative and he told me that I can use the FREE version of NT8 if I wanted to. I remember the leased version offers something extra that I didn't need as a chart reader. I am confused. Can you clarify?

    Thanks,

    Hello AttiM,

    Thanks for your post.

The information GFF Brokers provided is correct.

Using GFF Brokers on NinjaTrader requires purchasing the Multi-Broker AddOn plan in the NinjaTrader Account Dashboard which is $99 per month.

After purchasing the Multi-Broker AddOn plan, contact GFF Brokers to confirm that you purchased the multi-broker plan for NinjaTrader.

GFF will contact NinjaTrader to enable the data feed connection.

See this NinjaTrader Support article for more information about the Multi-Broker AddOn plan: https://support.ninjatrader.com/s/ar...Trader-Desktop

For any other questions regarding data feed providers, please contact platformsupport[at]ninjatrader[dot]com.

      Hi Brandon,

      1. The same applies for the Interactive Brokers as well?
      2. Do I need the multi-broker add on plan with any broker I choose? Or, it depends on the broker?
      3. If I bought the NT8, if I owned it, is the multi-broker add on included?

      Thanks,

        Hello AttiM,

        Thanks for your notes.

Yes, using Interactive Brokers on NinjaTrader requires purchasing the Multi-Broker AddOn plan in the NinjaTrader Account Dashboard.

From the Support article linked in post # 2:

"The Multiple Broker Add-on allows users to connect to an account with a supported third-party brokerage firm and place live trades in the account and view its information."

If you have purchased Single-Broker or Multi-Broker Lifetime License with NinjaTrader prior to March 4, 2023 , all customers that have purchased a Lifetime License Key (prior to March 4, 2023) have the Multiple Broker Add-on activated at no additional cost. This is noted in the Support article linked in post # 2.

If you did not purchase a Lifetime License Key prior to March 4, 2023 then you will need to subscribe to the Multi-Broker AddOn plan.

See this Support article for information about how to subscribe to the Multi-Broker Add-On without a NinjaTrader Brokerage Account:

          Hi,

I didn't purchase it yet. I'd like you to confirm that what I am reading is right - I, sort of, can't believe my eyes. So, even if I buy the platform I will still have to pay 100 bucks every month for the multi-brokers' add on?

          Thanks

            Hello AttiM,

            Thanks for your notes.

That is correct, the Multi-Broker AddOn plan is a separate plan to allow users to connect to an account with a supported third-party provider.

This Multi-Broker Addon plan is not included in the Monthly or Lifetime Account plans unless a Single-Broker or Multi-Broker Lifetime License was purchased prior to March 4, 2023.

For any other questions that may arise, please write in to platformsupport[at]ninjatrader[dot]com.

NinjaTrader_BrandonH A potential customer of mine is based in Canada and told me that NinjaTrader has told her that it is not possible to use NinjaTrader Desktop in Canada because there are no supported brokers. That seems to contradict what you are covering in this thread. The potential customer contacted NinjaTrader Support just this week and received the same answer that people in Canada cannot use NinjaTrader.

So, for the benefit of clarity and certainty, would you please state the full official NinjaTrader policy and practice for NinjaTrader Desktop use by residents of Canada, and the supported brokers, if any, that can be used.

              Thanks.

Thanks, NinjaTrader_BrandonH. You do not mention Interactive Brokers? Why?

                Thanks.

Thanks, NinjaTrader_BrandonH What about Forex? Is Forex supported for GFF and IB for Canadian residents?

                  Thanks.

                    Hello jeronymite,

As long as the connection for the brokerage is supported, the brokerage can be connected with the Multi-broker addon.

Interactive Brokers and Forex.com support forex instruments and are supported connection types.

GFF Brokers offers Ninjatrader 8 (NT8) for $99/month, but Ninjatrader itself has a free version of NT8 available. The free version should be enough for your needs as a chart reader, as the leased version mainly offers extras that you might not need. So, if you're happy with the basic features of NT8 and don't need the extras, you can definitely stick with the free version. It's always good to clarify with both GFF Brokers and Ninjatrader to make sure you're getting the right version for your trading style. Good luck, and happy trading!
