    Newbie needs help

    Hello,
    1st of all, my apologies upfront for the questions, but I'm new at using www.ninjatrader.com (just financed my account). I have been using APEX to learn daytrading and now am looking to use a live account (www.ninjatrader.com) to grow it. My questions are:
    1. If I download the latest NinjaTrader Desktop version, can I still use APEX (I have 3 accounts also there that I'm trading).
    2. If I can use the latest downloaded NT Desktop AND Apex (perhaps on seperate screens if not connected?), how do you suggest I set it up so that it doesn't interfere with my APEX accounts?
    3. If you have any suggestions about how I should set things up, please send them to me.
    My goal is to retire and day trade and I am taking the first step and I look forward to working with all of you who want to help the 'old guy'.

    Thank you very much for your post and welcome to the NinjaTrader forums!

    You can indeed connect to both, your NinjaTrader and Apex-based accounts at the same time (when using NinjaTrader 8.1).

    If you would like to completely separate both accounts, one option would be to create individual Workspaces for each. This would allow you to switch back and forth between two different setups, based on the preferences for each account.

    If you are connected to both accounts at the same time, you can switch the account the order is submitted to in the "Account" dropdown menu on each order entry screen. This means you could e.g. have a ChartTrader open that submits orders to your NinjaTrader, and a SuperDOM that submits orders to the Apex account.

    If you would like to ensure that orders can't be sent to one or the other, you can also disconnect from this account (under Connections).

      There's not any chance that you could do a screen log in and set it up for me is there? I don't want to mess this up.

        I have downloaded the latest version of NinjaTrader and I see two connections (APEX and My Ninja Trader). Do you have step-by-step instructions on how to set things up if you can't do a call in?
