Order was cancelled

My order was cancelled on its own at 4:47pm. It did not hit my stop loss nor target price. Can someone please help what needs to be changed?
I was told about margins.
I opened a $3000 account and did an MNQ trade with stop loss at $100. 2 contracts.

Was it a DAY or GTC order for its time in force?

It was a GTC. I talked to support. They said it was a margin issue. I need $1680 per contract for any overnight. Since I had two contracts, it exceeded the $3000 in my account.
Had to pay $25 penalty.

Bruce, figured you might know this. Do you know the exact time for what is considered holding an overnight position where margin goes to initial or maintenance margin? Is it only if a position is left open at the close of the day? Would closing out a position at say 3pm central time and reopening it at 5pm central time all count as only intraday margin?
