    NinjaTrader Web?

Is there a Web Based (Cloud Based) NinjaTrader? Not Tradeovate, actual Ninjatrader that is Web/Cloud based?

    #2
    Hello FishTrade,

NinjaTrader has merged with Tradovate. The NinjaTrader web trader platform is tradovate technology.

I think you know what FishTrade was asking. Along those lines, when are we going to have access to a web based vendor licensing option so that licensing can be done away from the computer or away from home??

        Hello eDanny,

I'm not quite sure what you mean. There is a NinjaTrader web trader. While this is based on Tradovate technology, it is for NinjaTrader Brokerage accounts.

Unfortunately, I would not be able to provide any insight on future developments.

I would be happy to submit your vote toward the development team considering this for implementation.

            Hello eDanny,

I'm not seeing that FishTrade has made any mention of vendor licensing.

However, that is what I was addressing in post # 4 about future developments.

@Chesea B. Since there is no "Ninjatrader" cloud version, & I have more than 1 PC that has NinjaTrader on & under same license# how do I "sync" the second PC to my main PC?
Want to have all settings, Charts & imported indicators on the 2nd PC same as main PC.

                Hello FishTrade,

Below is a link to the NinjaTrader web trader. This exists on the web, which can be thought of as a cloud service.
Trade Futures and Commodities on Most Devices and with a Fixed Commission Rate or Unlimited Trading Subscription Fee Option

Are you asking how to install NinjaTrader on a VPS? (Virtual Private Server)

To install NinjaTrader on the new computer please follow the link below.
Complete the following steps to create a Backup Archive on the first computer.
                1. Disconnect from all connectivity providers (if connected) and from within the Control Center > Connections menu.
                2. On the Control Center select Tools > Export > Backup File...
                3. The "Export Backup File" dialog window will appear
                4. Select the items you wish to back up
(I recommend unchecking Historical Data, Log and Trace files, and Market Replay Data but leaving everything else checked)
                5. Click the Export button below

After the backup is complete, navigate to the folder in which the backups are stored, by default they go to:
                • Documents\NinjaTrader 8 Backup\
                • The Backup file will be saved as the days date that it was created (Example: 2023-04-18.nt8bk)
You then can email the backup (depending on size), burn to disc, or transfer to an external media to place it on the second PC.

Complete the following steps to restore a Backup Archive on the second computer.
                1. From within the Control Center window select Tools > Import > Backup File...
                2. Select the backup archive to restore from the "Restore" file dialog window
                3. Press the "Open" button
Please note, the new computer will have a different Machine ID and will result in any passwords for any custom account connections being removed, when 'Configuration' is checked in the restore window when restoring.

For security purposes all account connections will need to have the username and password re-entered.

You will also need to contact any 3rd party vendors and let them know that your machine ID has changed. You can locate the new machine ID by the following:
                • Control Center > Help > About... (e.g. Machine ID: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX)

Once the backup is restored, shutdown NinjaTrader and click No to all for saving any workspaces, then restart NinjaTrader.

Below I have provided a link to the Backup & Restore section of our help guide.

Right, I was interjecting my complaint instead of starting a whole new thread which should not be necessary. An answer is just as easy here as anywhere.

@Chelsea B., would it be fair to say that NinjaTrade indicators or indicators from Ecosystem can not be imported into TRADEOVAT?

The indicators written for NinjaTrader Desktop would be completely incompatible with Tradovate or NInjaTrader Web - those platforms have almost nothing in common. They're ultimately based on JavaScript, while NinjaTrader Desktop is based on C#, and the underlying structures and design principles are different from the ground up. Such indicators could be rewritten for NinjaTrader Web but it would be a complete re-write.

                        Hello FishTrade,

Bruce is providing helpful information. NinjaScript for the deskop platform is written in C#. The web platform is Javascript and is not compatible.

Unfortunately, C# scripts made for the desktop cannot be run on the web trader.

@Chelsea B , effectively NINJATRADER has no Cloud based Platform. The fact that Ninja Purchased Tradeovate & Tradeovate is cloud based is not of much help if we have been using Ninjatrade. Is it time for Ninjatrade to also offer cloud "Platform?" ( Tradeovate is Tradeovate it is not Ninja).

                            Unfortunately, I do not understand.

You are stating that the web trader at web.ninjatrader.com is not "Cloud" based? Do you mean you cannot access this from the internet?

Are asking about a cloud based VPS (Virtual Private Server)?

He is saying Tradovate is NOT NinjaTrader because it is NOT compatible with Ninja scripts and therefore wishes there was a cloud based NinjaTrader.
