Strategy builder treats bar close value different from bar median value?

in the strategy builder condition & actions window [displayed in the attachment] why doesn't the left side of the generated equation look more like the right side of the equation [i.e.] the only difference is that i have specified bar close for the first parameter of the hma indicator on the left side whereas bar median value has been specified on the right side?

in other words, why doesn't the strategy builder merely generate
HMA(Close, HmaPeriodUserInput)[0] >= HMA(Median, HmaPeriodUserInput)[0] ?

whoops! is it because the median [first parameter of HMA] on the right hand side has not been designated to be a function of HmaMedianUserInput? gotta think on this ... but meanwhile please send comments, advice, questions, etc. it will help a lot i'm sure.

Thanks for writing in to our Support Forums!

It looks like you have set the input data series for your first HMA to be another HMA instead of the current Close price. You will want to select Close under the Price type pulldown menu when you select "Default input" in the Input series window. This is the window that comes up after you click the button next to "Input series" in the Condition Builder when you are configuring an indicator. The "Default input" will always be the Close price.
