    Strategy analyzer default settings?

How do I make the settings for a strategy analyzer test the default settings in NT8 [i.e.] in NT7 I clicked at the bottom of the panel and a pop-up displayed ''save as default'' ?

Hello Joe, and thank you for your question. NT8 has something similar to NT7's defaults. In NT8, these are now called "presets". You can learn more about these here, http://ninjatrader.com/support/helpG...properties.htm

The strategy analyzer also has templates. You can learn more about them here, http://ninjatrader.com/support/helpG...meter_temp.htm

Please let us know if there are any other ways we can help.

''preset save restore'' is not working for me [i.e.] i am doing something wrong. for example [see attachment], when i do a ''preset save'' in the strategy analyzer window i expect that next time i start the analyzer for the same instrument the properties for the window will be those that i saved with the ''preset save'' ... but they are not? i tried doing a ''preset restore'' to no avail?

i just realized that maybe i should be using templates. maybe that's my problem?

      please advise.

You are using presets correctly. For reference,

Once you have your properties set to your preference, you can left mouse click on the "preset" text located in the bottom right of theproperties dialog. Selecting the option "save" will save these settings as the default settings used every time you open a new window/tab.

If you change your settings and later wish to go back to the original settings, you can left mouse click on the "preset" text and select the option to "restore" to return to the original settings.

However it does not look like your screen attached properly. Could you attempt once more to capture your before and after settings? That is, take a screenshot, save, close the strategy analyzer window, open a new window, and take a picture of those settings? This will aid greatly in seeing the same thing on our end that you are seeing on yours.

To send a screenshot with Windows 7 or newer I would recommend using Window's Snipping Tool.
Alternatively to send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screenshot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.

Once we have a screenshot, the paperclip icon in the advanced editor here on the forums will give you a screen which will let you browse to, then upload, then ok, attachments.

Thank you for providing these images. With this context, you are correct in that you will need to use templates on this screen instead of presets. Please let us know if there are any other ways we can help.
