NT deleted my strategy templates

Is there any possible way to recover these templates?

Here's what happened:

• My strategy compiled without errors
• It disappeared from the strategies list
• I found the cause in my code - i was using Time[0] inside SetDefaults. I fixed this and compiled again with no errors.
• Strategy shows up in the strategies list again
• But all my templates are gone and the folder for the strategy's templates on my PC is now empty.

Is is possible for NT to not delete strategy templates when my strategy is somehow removed from the strategies list?
This really set me back very badly.

UPDATE: I found the settings from my settings template in the Strategy Analyzer logs from before this issue happened and my templates were deleted. At least I can recover my settings. But still would like a reply

NinjaTrader does not delete template files.

Typically this is caused by OneDrive or other syncing software.

Below is a link to a video showing that changing a script does not delete templates.

Following the exact steps shown in the video, are you experiencing different behavior than what is shown in the video?

That is very strange. I don't use OneDrive or DropBox or any antivirus aside from windows defender. I wonder if something in the cs file caused windows to delete the files. I received no warning about any bad file and I never have had such an issue before.

I didn't mean to say that modifying a strategy causes NT to delete the strategy templates. I modify my strategy code many times daily and never had such an issue.

I'm saying something happened that caused NT to stop showing my strategy in the strategies list even though it compiled successfully.
At the same time, my template files were deleted from the strategy's folder in the /templates/strategy folder.

This would not be related to templates. This would be related to run-time errors in OnStateChange().

If you don't have syncing software, backup software, or system cleaning software, there is a chance that someone has access to your computer and is deleting your files.

Please confirm you are able to reproduce using the exact steps in the video so that we may continue investigating.

I reproduced the steps in your video, and as expected, there was no issue with the template.
This is exepcted because the steps in your video are not the same steps that would replicate what I experienced.
It seems like we are stuck talking about two different things,.

Considering the templates were gone within a couple minutes of the strategy disappearing from strategies list, I am not sure it makes sense to spend time exploring the idea of a well-timed bad actor having access to my PC and deleting my template files specifically.

I understand you are 100% sure NT is completely incapable of deleting template files. You are a core developer if I am not mistaken, so I do not think any further discussion will be productive, no matter what my experience was.
