Current Bid, Current Ask or Close of bar?

Hey everyone, I am a little confused if should use Current Bid price, Current Ask price, or when the bar closes for my strategy. For context my market buy or sell order is placed when the current candle closes higher than the previous candle high and vice versa for shorts. I have been running back test and forward testing with Current Bid price as the entry signal above or below the high or low. I'm curious what everyone thinks about how this will affect my back test compared to reality. Also, if anyone has any advice of which one to use and why I would love any advice! My thought was Current Ask price for longs and Current Bid price for shorts. But I am definitely more to the beginner side of creating strategies so I am open and happy to take any advice anyone has.
