Custom ATM strategy won't in 'ATM Strategy' dropdown

    Greetings

I have a custom ATM strategy that I created in NinjaScript Editor. How do I make it usable as an 'all the time' strategy vs. having to select it every time via right-click, Strategies?

The script compiles. I tried creating a custom template of the same name, but this does not work. This creates XML code and does not reference my custom code. I want to have it added to the 'ATM Strategy' dropdown in the chart trader.

Thanks in advance for the help !

    Hello LoneWolfTradingGroup,

Strategies always require manually applying because they trade in your place, that is how you would start a strategy. For ATM templates you need to use a tool like the chart trader to create the template and save it, once you do that you can reference the saved template in your strategies code. You can see the SampleATMStrategy script for an example of executing an ATM.

So I have to create potentially inferior strategies within the 'custom' feature of the Chart Trader option to have them show up in the drop down? I see some 3rd party strategies that you can copy into a specified folder and they appear i.e. XABCD Trading. Would I have to migrate my NinjaTrader script to XML code in order for them to appear? Sorry to be a pest and thanks again.

What does your strategy do that you can't do within the ATM Strategy itself? What is the purpose of having it in the drop down as opposed to being able to use it as a strategy?

As I play with it, you may be right. I think I can do what I was doing programmatically within the create custom tool. I will keep working on it.

The reason to have it on the drop down is speed of deployment. I have yet to investigate hot keys on this platform, so that may solve my problem as well. I come from the ToS world so I'm spoiled, and a tad more knowledgeable, on the fast ways to get things done. Thanks for the input.
