Is a strategy developed for version 8.0.28.0 compatible with version 8.1.3.1?

Welcome to the NinjaTrader forums!

There are very few code breaking changes from 8.0.28.0 and 8.1.3.1. These were changes to properties and classes that are not documented in the help guide.

If the script is using all supported code that is documented in the help guide, the script will import without issue.

Note, NinjaTrader 8.0.28.0 targets C# 5 while NinjaTrader 8.1.3.1 targets C# 8.
All C# 5 code should work in C# 8, however any code specific to C# 8 that is not implemented in C# 5 would cause errors.
Meaning a script made with 8.1.3.1 might not be importable into the older 8.0.28.0 release depending on it's code.
That said, we always recommend any scripts being created, be created with the latest release (currently 8.1.3.1) and that all users update to the latest release.
