Thank you for your post.
Yes, you can start an ATM strategy inside your strategy script. Please note however it is not possible to use ATM strategies with the Strategy Builder.
To use an ATM strategy in your script you would need to unlock it.

You can also see the SampleAtmStrategy script included in NinjaTrader 8 which demonstrates.
From the Strategy Builder, exit behavior can be added with logic. Below is a link to examples of a breakeven and trailing action implemented in the Strategy Builder.
