    fractional position size.

    people with nt,

    good day.

i am refining some strategies to be traded on the sqqq and tqqq etfs. the trends in historical prices for sqqq result in the need to use position sizes with up to 4 decimal places.

¿which kinds of data types will nt accept for position sizes? ¿decimal, double? ¿and how can one use only 4 decimal places for position sizes (the strategy will calculate variable position sizes based on last price and initial capital plus cumulative profits)?

there is a lot of debate on the internet on how to truncate a number to only 4 decimal places but the solutions vary according to the data type one is working with so it is best to understand which possibilities exist within nt.

    very well, regards.

    Hello rtwave,

In NinjaTrader fractional trading is not a current concept, you would need to use whole amounts for order quantities.

In your own logic you can calculate fractional numbers but all of the platforms order related methods/tools only take integer values starting at a minimum of 1 quantity.
