CurrentBars doesn't match bars on the chart.

From the image I can't tell how many bars are on the chart, I would suggest to open the data box window in the chart and then right click and enable the show bar indexes. That should give you the total number of bars and an index for each bar when you hover the bar.

ok, so it seems the count is starting not from the left most bar visible in the chart but from the settings 'days to load' in the strategy settings. I missed this.

So there's 2 days to load settings, one on the data series, one in the strategy and the strategy one is where the count starts. Not on the chart. That's what I realised.

If the dates loaded into the market replay player don't match exactly the '5 days ago' settings in the strategy settings. The count does not represent what is on screen.

The left most bar or first bar of the data is the index 0 bar. You can scroll around the chart but that does not change the first bar on the chart and where data processing starts.

The chart has a days to load setting and if you apply a strategy to that chart it will use that specific charts data. A strategy only has a days to load setting if you apply it in the control center, in that case it is not linked to a chart so the bar indexing won't match any specific chart because it loaded its own data.

It makes sense but it's a bit confusing. Essentially there's 3 variables;

The chart data series 'days to load'
The market replay date loaded
The strategy 'days to load' setting

Yes those settings all have their own individual uses. The charts days to load specifies how much data that individual chart will load. The playback controller tells the platform what point in time you want to playback from, the charts days to load is based on days ago from now in time. In playback the now in time is what you select with the controller so the charts data is always relative to the playback controller. The strategy works in the same way as the chart when applied to the control center, it loads data based on what you specified and that data is relative to now or when in time the playback controller has selected.

If you are trying to do any type of visual comparisons from the strategy it would be best to apply the strategy directly to the chart instead of using the control center, that will let the strategy use the chart settings and data so any indexing or visual you do from the strategy will match with that chart.

If you are using the builder to try and draw a common item that comes up is not checking the autoscale box and entering a price for the Y field. To make sure drawings appear correctly those two items need to be set. The autoscale helps by always showing the object even if it was drawn outside of the normally visible area of the chart bars. If you leave the Y field at 0 that means the object gets drawn at a price of 0, auto scaling is off by default so those objects wouldn't be visible.
