Slope Condition

Hi, I'm hoping you can show me how to add a condition to a set in the strategy builder:

The condition occurs when the thicker dark blue line (ADXVMA indicator) is sloping up for more than 4 bars. I'm pretty sure I can do this in strategy builder but just don't know the exact settings to use in the wizard to add this condition. Thanks, Mitch

Hello mmenigma,

If you mean the overall slope between the first and second point you can use the Misc -> Slope method.
Set the Series 1 to the indicator
Set the Start bar to 4 bars ago
Set the operator in the center to Greater
Compare this to Misc -> Numeric value 0 on the right



If you want to ensure every bar value from the plot is greater than the previous bar's value
Select the Indicator -> Indicator name
Select Greater as the operator
Compare this to the same Indicator on the right, with Bars ago set to 1
Add a new condition to the set
Select the Indicator -> Indicator name
Set Bars ago to 1
Select Greater as the operator
Compare this to the same Indicator on the right, with Bars ago set to 2
Add a new condition to the set
Select the Indicator -> Indicator name
Set Bars ago to 2
Select Greater as the operator
Compare this to the same Indicator on the right, with Bars ago set to 3
Add a new condition to the set
Select the Indicator -> Indicator name
Set Bars ago to 3
Select Greater as the operator
Compare this to the same Indicator on the right, with Bars ago set to 4
