Position Aware

Hi there,

Hope you guys are doing well,

I have some stratgies that are long only, that sometimes I deactiavte and when I re activate they are in a long position already, so when the sell signal hits it goes short.

What can I do to to have the strategy go long only when the position is sold and another long signal appears ? I have came across a code that might reflect on the real account the actual position such as position aware or something like that but can't remember exactly.

Hello moewqasem,

When you deactivate and re active a strategy it will process all bars up to that point as historically which it could place historical trades. For a strategy to accurately know what to do it would need to place the historical trade and then use its exit logic to close the position before working in realtime. That is the default start behavior wait until flat. If you have another start behavior selected you would have to use the descriptions in the help guide to ensure your strategy is programmed to support that behavior.
