Control Panel wont open

NT8 (latest build) crashed and now Control Panel wont open.

I'm not using multiple monitors, its not off screen. In pic you can clearly see it is stuck.
I've tried a reboot
I've killed it in cmd prompt.

What gives? It's really frustrating that a product that has been around for so long has such frequent problems running on a suped up computer. I am starting to question my investment.

I just attempted to repair the application using the installed and it didn't help

Hello Skifree,

Please try the following items to first check if the window is out of position.

Hover the mouse over the control center icon you pictured and right click, if restore is visible click restore. If move is visible click Move and then press the left arrow key on the keyboard, then move the mouse around.
If that does not work do the following to try safe mode

1. Make sure NinjaTrader is closed
2. Click Start -> programs -> NinjaTrader -> NinjaTrader (Safe mode)

Does it work in safe mode?

The window isn't out of position, move doesn't do anything and restore is grey.

I can open it in safe mode, but when I quit and reopen normally it still doesn't work. Even when it loads, clicking on any windows open crashes the app. Moving the editor window in this state also seems to crash the app.

Also, I use no 3p apps or addons.

Can safe mode help me?

Please try doing the following to start without loading your custom workspaces

1. Exit NinjaTrader
2. Open the folder Documents\NinjaTrader 8\workspaces
3. Delete the _Workspaces.xml file
4. Start NinjaTrader

That helped me load it. Eventually i traded it to a parameter copy+paste to the wrong area. This was meant for an indicator but was in the main strategy

This isn't the first time i've had issues with parameters. Why aren't problems handled with error handling, instead they cause everything to meltdown?

Hello Skifree,

From the given code I don't see what the problem would be to provide direction here. The platform does have error handling and usually shows errors in the control center log.
