How to Avoid Opposite Orders Across Strategies.

Hi,

Two independent strategies entered into opposite position. One took long trade and other one took short trade. I don't want to enter or place entry order in opposite direction, when some other strategy already opened a position on one direction. How to achieve this ?

Hello nandhumca,

Typically we wouldn't recommend running two strategies on the same instrument and account.

That said, you can check the PositionAccount is flat before allowing an entry order to be submitted.

Note, this would not prevent the strategies from both placing a working entry order at the same time when the position is flat.

Thanks for the quick reply. Can I use Account.Position / Acccount.Orders to see current position direction of Account and Pending entry order direction right ? based on that, my other strategy will not place opposite order. if that works, how to get the associated Account object reference from Strategy ?

Yes, the strategy will have an Account object, and you can loop through the Account.Orders as well.
