Position showing open on strategies tab, but there are no open positions

Made a strat with builder. I have state=realtime and calc on each tick. Strategy is showing an active trade in strategy tab after each trade. I have to enable/disable after every trade. What am I doing wrong?

    Hello Touch-Ups,

    Thanks for your post.

Could you please provide a screenshot demonstrating the behavior you are reporting so we may accurately assist?
    • To send a screenshot with Windows 10 or newer I would recommend using the Windows Snipping Tool.
    • Alternatively to send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screenshot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save it as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.
Is the strategy submitting a market order, stop market order, or stop limit order?

Has the order that was submitted by the strategy been filled? Or, is this still a working order?

We look forward to assisting further.

Okay. I didn't touch anything this time. I will show a position in the strategies tab, but will still take trades without any intervention. It is confusing though when it shows to be in a position on the strategies tab, but the strategy still enters trades. I originally thought that since it showed to be in a trade on the strategies tab, that it would not enter again, but it does. It just now took a long trade, left an "L" in the strategies tab, took another long trade, and this time the "L" is not there.

        Hello Touch-Ups,

        Thanks for your notes.

Is the strategy green or yellow in the Strategies tab of the Control Center when you enable the strategy?

Does the 'Position' column and 'Acct. Position' column in the Strategies tab of the Control Center report you are '1 L'?

Are you running multiple NinjaScript strategy on the same instrument/account or are you manually placing orders on the same instrument/account?

Is the strategy submitting a market order, stop market order, or stop limit order?

Has the order that was submitted by the strategy been filled? Or, is this still a working order?

Please provide a short demonstration video showing the behavior you are reporting so we may accurately assist.

You could use the free publicly available software TinyTake linked below for recording a short demonstration video.

Green. "position" is showing the 1L. "acct position" is blank. Sync is false. Only running this one strat, no manual. Market orders. Orders get filled/closed correctly. The actual position and accounts tabs show normal behavior. It is just the strategies tab that looks off, but strat seems to perform okay.

            Hello Touch-Ups,

            Thanks for your notes.

If the 'Position' column in the Strategies tab of the Control Center reports '1 L' this means your strategy has an order that put you in a 1 Long position.

The 'Sync' column indicates if you Strategy Position and Account Position are in sync or not. When the Strategy Position and Account position match the 'Sync' column will report 'True'. When the Strategy Position and Account position do not match the 'Sync' column will report 'False'.

Note that Strategy Positions are separate from actual Account Positions.

If there were any changes to the account position that the strategy did not make then the sync should show false. You would otherwise need to compare the account/live orders which resulted in the position against the strategy performance report to see where the mismatch may be. That would let you see what specific situation causes the sync to be false so you can adjust what you are doing or what the strategy is doing.

See the help guide documentation below for more information.
