Strategy Builder files

I have a few Strategy Builder files (Ending in .sb) from a previous installation that I copied to my desktop.
I want to incorporate some of them into my current NT8 installation. Which folder should I paste them on?

Thanks for your notes.

All NinjaScript strategy files would end in .cs, not in .sb, and are located in the Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom\Strategies folder.

If you have the .cs file of the strategy in question, you could copy the file to the Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom\Strategies folder. Then, open a New > NinjaScript Editor window in NinjaTrader and click the 'Compile' button to run a compile and save changes.

If you do not have the .cs file of the strategy in question, you would need to create a new strategy in the Strategy Builder window in NinjaTrader 8.

Note that if this is a NinjaScript strategy that was made in NinjaTrader 7, the script would not successfully import into NinjaTrader 8 due to code breaking changes.

If this is a NinjaTrader 7 script, you would need to create a new strategy in NinjaTrader 8 and convert the code from NinjaTrader 7 to NinjaTrader 8.

The strategies files I have referred end in .sb not .cs I tried to paste them into the Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom\Strategies but they are not recognized by Strategy Builder. I have mailed one via NT8 Email Support. Please advise how to install it. Thanks.

Thanks for your notes.

Files that end in .sb cannot be imported onto the NinjaTrader platform. Only .cs files will work in NinjaTrader Desktop.

You will need to re-create the strategy in question using the Strategy Builder window in NinjaTrader.

If this is a strategy you acquired from a third-party developer, you should reach out to that third-party developer to request an exported copy of the strategy in question. The exported copy could be imported by going to Tools > Import > NinjaScript AddOn.
