Why do some activated strategies remain white?

Folks, I'd like to get the benefit of your expertise of why some strategies, when activated, remain white (inactivated)?

As you can see from my image, my strategy, Rexp14, remains white on NQ 26111 and 11111 volume charts. However, that same strategy is green (activated) on NQ volume charts 31111 and 36666 volumes. I've been experiencing this problem more n the last month. I have found two techniques to reduce this:

    - Wait. Sometimes if I wait for 30-60 minutes, if I reactivate a strategy and enable, then it will flip from white to green. I imagine it has something to do on waiting for all data to load into the chart.
    - Isolate. I usually load the strategy into a chart with multiple instruments and multiple strategies. If I pull that strategy out, into its own chart and instrument, then it will successfully activate.

This helps reduce the number of unactivated strategies, but I still have a few left over that remain white. Do you have any insight into why a strategy does not activate, and how to correct it? Thanks,

    Hello timmbbo,

I wouldn't be sure why that would happen unless the strategy is failing to load in some way and getting stuck. Have you tried to add debugging to the strategy to make sure it is processing and entering realtime?

Jesse, thanks, although something is still up.

Take a look at foo2. My strategy, Rexp14, never gets off white. Within this strategy, you can see I'm running multiple instruments and strategies. Then, I pull out the instruments Rex14 was running on, isolating into its own chart, image Rexp14. When I do this, the strategies then run. So, if the strategies activate doesn't seem to be dependent upon the code, but some sort of NT state. It leads me to speculate the issue might be on your end of the code.

      Your thoughts? Thanks,

        Hello timmbbo,

Your strategies code is held on your PC and would not be held on NinjaTraders end. To know if your strategy is getting stuck you would need to add debugging to the strategy so you can observe what it is doing after you enable it.
