Copy Strategy

Hi - Is there a way to copy an entire strategy developed in the strategy builder and paste it into a new strategy with a new name? Easier than writing the strategy all over again into a new one.

Hello Fran888,

On the Welcome page hover over the name of the strategy in the drop-down and select Save As.

This is discussed in the ''Automate Your Trading with NinjaTrader's Strategy Builder and 'NinjaScript Editor 401' training videos. These are great start with if you have not watched these already.

Can someone please answer this question here? I want to completely duplicate a current strategy so I can tweak it into a new Strategy. I want to keep the option to use Strategy Builder. I have searched everywhere and cannot find how to do this without copy/pasting the code. Certainly, this has to be a way to not have to build another strategy when you just want to tweak one aspect of a current one.

Again, Please explain how to do this step by step. I have read about a "SAVE AS" option but I cannot see "Save As" anywhere. Screenshots would be a bonus. I can even open two strategies at once to look at the code of another strategy.

Hello nelslynn,

In the NinjaScript Editor 401 video linked from the forum thread linked in post # 2, the strategy is copied in the Strategy Builder by clicking Save as on the Strategy name in the drop-down at 6 minutes and 29 seconds in the video.

I do recommend you give this video a second watch and pay close attention at 6:29 in the video.
