Strategy is Disabled when a manual trade in another account is made.

Why do my strategies in my live account or another account get disabled when a manual trade is made in another account. Specifically, if I have a strategy attached to a sim account and I'm manually trading live. Why do the sim account strategies get disabled when I'm trading a completely different account live? This is so annoying and makes it impossible to both manually trade and trade with a strategy.

If this doesn't work, what's the alternative? I have to buy 2 licenses and use 2 machines? Because if that's the case that would suck.

    Thanks
    Dave

    Hello Dave,

Placing trades to a different account would not cause any NinjaScript Strategies to be disabled.

Specifically clicking the Close button will disable any NinjaScript Strategies with an open position on the same account.

Below is a link to a video that demonstrates.

Unfortunately this is not the case. If you have a strategy attached on a chart to the sim account and not in trade. Then you enter an order on the Super DOM screen in a live account, it will disable the running Strategy.

        Hello dmisselhorn,

I am not able to reproduce.

Below is a link to a video testing those steps.

Did you make sure to fill the manual order from the super dom? It has to fill, just placing the order doesn't disable it.

            Hello dmisselhorn,

Yes, at 1:07 in the video the position becomes 1 long.

                Hello dmisselhorn,

Can you provide a video showing the account selected in the strategy parameters, and then placing the order on a different account?

If you do not have recording software, Techsmith provides Jing for free for short videos.
TechSmith Capture is a simple, free way to create basic screenshots and screen recordings and share them with others.

To give you some back ground, I'm a developer, it's my trader that can't get this to work. They had to step out so I will pickup tomorrow again trying to trouble shoot this with her. I am not able to reproduce this either. But I've seen her do it.
