Is it possible to build an indicator that draws trend channels automatically?

Hi experts,

I am looking at ways to automatically draw the channels consisting of parallel lines shown in the sample illustration:



I am using a manual strategy and wish to automate it fully. Wonder if it is possible to create those trend channels by code.

The trend channel drawing tool can be used from code, you can see a sample of its use in the help guide:

You would have to figure out what criteria you use to draw that tool and then make those type of conditions inside your script and then draw the object using the prices you found.

nothing works better than diagonal lines. and creating a system that was able to define trend lines automatically is an immense interest for me as well.


i have thought about posting on reddit about this matter. there are a number of algorithmic - quantitative trading subgroups in reddit and some users are quite knowledgeable. for the most part reddit is a total cesspit, like the entire internet, but it could be possible to receive valuable help or advice there. give it a try.
