    Importing data problem

    Hi
I have a 10 years tick data with bid ask .txt file that i want to import in ninja
    Its format is like this:

Date, Time ,Price, Bid ,Ask, Size
    20230601 000008;1.2438;1.2437;1.2438;1

This data is for 6E(but the file name is different) and i have some question about importing process (i never import data on this platform)

    1. Is this the right format for importing tick data?
    2. What should i change the txt file name to for 6E?
    3. In historical data window > import , there is 3 section that can be change (Format, Data Type, Time Zone) what should i choose in each section for this type of data?

    Thanks

    Hello FarzadHA,

You can find the formats that NinjaTrader accepts in the following link. To be able to import the data you need to make sure to rename the file to the correct format for the data being imported.
For your third question that would depend on the source of the data, you need to check what the data was exported as (last/ask/bid) and what timezone the data is in. If the data came from NinjaTrader you can leave the default selections.

    Tick Format (Second Granularity)
Each tick must be on its own line and fields must be separated by semicolon
    The format is:
    yyyyMMdd HHmmss;price;volume

    File Name
When using the NinjaTrader format, the name of the text file to be imported must be the NinjaTrader instrument name followed by a period and "Last", "Bid", or "Ask" depending on the data type. For example:
MSFT.Last.txt for Microsoft stock last price data
ES 12-09.Bid.txt for the S&P E-mini December contract bid price data
EURUSD.Ask.txt for the Euro/U.S. dollar currency pair ask price data

      Hi Jesse

      Thanks for the help
when i tried to import data from a 5 years txt file in ninja , it just show me the last 2.5 month and the rest of it doesn't show up
i noticed all of the data import successfully but just 2.5 month work , i think there is something about contract
Is it even possible to import a 5 years txt file at the same time or i should separate them into individual files with different names?

        Hello FarzadHA,

When importing futures instruments you would need to break the file into individual contracts if you want to be able to select specific contracts to get data or use the offsets and merge policy. If you import the data to a single contract the data will only be available while using that contract and you would also need to use the do not merge policy. https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...lightsub=merge
