Strategy Analyzer optimizer doesn't cover the specified date range?

    Hello,

I noticed that when I run the optimizer (Genetic mode) the cumulative profit only shows for 6 months. If I set the range from January to December, the analysis cumulative profit only shows from January to June.

How can I run a whole year?

    Many Thanks, Caesar.

    Hello Caesar,

    Thank you for your post.

Based on your description, it sounds as though the "Minimum performance" parameter is being met. Here is the description of that parameter in the help guide:
If this performance value is reached before all generations are evaluated the optimizer will end and present results immediately, where the type of this value is directly tied to your used optimization fitness metric (i.e. Profit Factor). A Value of 0 means no minimum performance is in use.

If you would like the optimization to continue for the whole year that is selected, you could set the value to 0 so that no minimum performance is being checked.

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance.

      Hi Emily,

Minimum Performance is already set to 0. It's still showing partial coverage.

      Many Thanks, Caesar.

        Hello Caesar,

        Thank you for your reply.

So I may assist you more accurately, please answer all of the following questions:
        • What version of NinjaTrader are you using? Please provide the entire version number. This can be found under Help -> About (Example: 8.?.?.?)
        • Do you see similar results when running the same genetic optimizer test on the SampleMaCrossOver strategy in NinjaTrader with the same settings as your strategy?
        • Who are you connected to? This is displayed in green in the lower-left corner of the Control Center window.
        • Are you connected to your data feed provider when running this test?
        • What instrument(s) (and expiry if applicable) have you selected?
        • What Data Series Type have you selected? Example: Tick, Minute, Day
        • What From and To date is selected?
          • You mentioned January to December, what year and days?
        • Is your strategy a multi-instrument or multi-time frame strategy?
        • Do you receive an error on the screen? Are there errors on the Log tab of the Control Center? If so, what do these errors report?
I look forward to your reply.
