Read the NT Log

Hello guys,

today NT lost the connection for whatever reason to one of the data servers. This resulted in some unhandled exeption. I had to kill the NT8 process and restart it. The position from the strategy was still open, but the TP and SL order was canceled.



Is there a way I can read the NT Log? That way I could look for warnings and error and notify myself about any possible issues.

You could check the Log tab of the Control Center to view a sequence of logged messages from the lost connection and to see what occurred. I also recommend going to Control Center > Tools > Options > Strategies and reviewing your NinjaScript connection loss settings to ensure they are configured as desired. For more information:

If you want to programmatically check for any errors, you could consider writing your own custom RealtimeErrorHandling logic. This is an advanced concept and should not be taken lightly; as noted in the help guide, "Setting this property value to IgnoreAllErrors can have serious adverse effects on a running strategy unless you have programmed your own order rejection handling in the OnOrderUpdate() method"

Hello Emily, I do not want to view the error log manually. The idea is that the strategy will read the log and notify me.
My own RealtimeErrorHandling would be for my own code. In this case NT lost the connection to a server. This is outside of a strategy. How do I read those events?

You could consider adding the OnConnectionStatusUpdate() method to your strategy. I suspect this is more in line with what you are looking for. For more information:
